Tremont Turks Win IB Tournament

On March 3rd & 4th, the Tremont 5th Grade Boys Basketball Team won it's 3rd consecutive Illini Bluffs Tiger-Tipoff Tournament. On it's way to a championship, the Turks defeated Brimfield #2, Farmington, Lewistown and the host team Illini Bluffs to go 4-0 and 7-2 in it's last 9 games of the season. The team was led in scoring by forward Silas Israel's inside & outside game along with point guard Timothy Rice's ball handling & timely passing. To round out the starting five were defensive specialist Colton Polhemus, shooting guard Alec Gilmer and big man Jaydon Kellum. The starters were backed up impressively with a deep bench this year with players Torrin Lawson, Logan Miller, Sully Larimore, Jacob Burge, Eli Willett, Joel Wockley and Jason Moore. In an interview following the game, Coach Rick Polhemus said "They left it all on the court and couldn't have made this season more fun." Congratulations Tremont Turks!
