PELICAN'S BUMP ON BEAK

During the breeding season, both males and females
develop a bump on the top of their large beak. This growth indicates the bird's interest in breeding. It is shed by the end of the breeding season.

A little fyi.....Only during the spring mating season is the bump on the beak.
