I drove through Lebanon, Illinois (east of St. Louis) just after a severe hailstorm had come through town. The highway was covered in leaves that had been stripped off the trees, and the hail was piled up like snow in the ditches and parking lots. With the air still warm and moist, very thick fog was also forming near the ground thanks to the cold hail.
