My father took this picture in 1948. The war had ended and my dad was able to come to America from Frankfurt Germany, his hometown, as a foreign exchange student. Dad attended Bradley and earned an engineering degree. Dad is still living in the Peoria area.
Note cobble stone Main street and erecting crane is visible behind new construction.
Opening day and game are announced on sigh in front of structure.
