These hailstones are from th storm that rolled through South Pekin,IL on August 16,2012. After telling my chilren not to go outside because they might get hurt, I(definitely not the best idea i've ever had)decided to go against my own words and collect a few hailstones for my kids seeing as how they were way too cool not to see up close.
