Our back yard is a popular place with local birds: finches, sparrows and even a couple of cardinals. This season we put a heated birdbath outside our rear window in an effort to get some close-up photos. During the high winds last Friday the birds had to fight the wind to stay perched on the new birdbath. They were flapping their wings at full speed against the wind to reach the water in the bird bath. Quite a few birds visited that day so I grabbed my camera and started shooting. I captured some neat action at the birdbath and a some shots of a male cardinal standing on the snow-covered ground amongst a group of finches.
