God's gift to me.. mom

The bible tells us to honor thy mother.. My mom makes that easy to do. She is the mother of 13 children, and no matter which one is asked ,we will tell you “ I’m her favorite “. Mom is an inspiration to her children, we strive to be like her. Her family continues to grow with the additions of grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and this year she will be a great great grandma. She will tell you , that God has blessed her. Mom filled our home with love. My siblings and I learned from example to be caring, respectful, and hardworking adults. We definitely are a family that prays and plays together. We love our family vacations together. Every year we pick a week and whomever can make it comes. We have vacationed in Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Illinois together. I think there was 60 family members present last year. The last time all of my brothers and sisters were able to be together at one time was to celebrate her 80th birthday. Mom loves to travel and has visited 48 of the 50 states. She has traveled overseas several times with a daughter. Her most precious trip, was to her families homeland Poland, where she was able to see and visit with her dad’s family. Mom can read some polish. My mom loves to play scrabble, She is an excellent player. We call her the walking dictionary , she not only knows how to spell, but can tell you the meaning of the word and she is always right. She loves to play cards and it’s our challenge to beat her. My children will take their friends into see grandma and play cards with her. They love spending time with Grandma as she has wonderful stories to tell, as to what it was like during the depression and World War 2. She is very proud of the military and the job they do. She used to walk the cemetery and put flags on the graves of the soldiers during the holidays. She is a past president of the VFW post 886 auxiliary. While she was the jr. girls advisor ,they would dress as clowns and visit nursing homes and the veterans homes and put on skits. Mom loves plants, her yard and home are filled with them. When our plants are near death , we take them to mom and she usually succeeds in bringing them back to life. My mom is a friends to all, and she welcomes you into her home with open arms.

Mom, You're a very special grandma. Your grandchildren ages range from 43 to 3, and they all love to visit and play with you. You are a devoted, loving, caring, and inspirational woman, and I'm PROUD to call you "mom".
