As an adult, I can honestly say that I could not imagine one day without my Dad. He has been there for me through everyday of my life, through the good..and well, the not so good. I speak to him everyday on the phone when he is not staying with me the every other month he drives up from southern MO. (retired) to visit. I am truly blessed. However, this is not why my Dad is the greatest. My Dad is the greatest because not only is he always positive, encouraging, and inspiring, but is the best Grandpa to my 5 children. He doesn't spend tons of cash, he isn't materialistic. He makes memories with them they can cherish and hold on to for years to come. Whether it's fishing, hiking, hunting, conversation, or just going for a ride in Grandpa Joe's "big, red truck", their faces light up at the sound of his name. It is the most amazing sight as a parent. Words cannot begin to describe the selfless, truly awesome man he is. I am a better person because of him. My children are better people because of him. I wish everyone could know and feel the love of a devoted father and grandfather. It is a great feeling!!
