Dad, Erica, Justine, and Janelle all in one photo doing what we do all summer!

Happy Father's Day, Daddy!!!

The picture that we have chosen pretty much explains everything about our family in one shot. Out dad, from the time we were all really little, has always been there for us in more ways than one. He has coached us in little league all the way up until I (Janelle) graduated from high school. A short background about our dad, baseball and softball have always been apart of his life. When he was around the age of 22 or 23 he was asked to join a men's fastpitch team. He did and he ended up playing for 15 years as a men's fastpitch catcher. We would travel all over the place during the summer to watch him play, and we had a blast! When his oldest started to play, about the time when she was 11 years old, her playing started to interfere with his playing. He then after a couple of years decided to give up the game that he knew and loved for the chance to coach his daughters during the summer. My dad and mom were now following their daughters all over the place during the summer to watch the game that we all loved. Because of his dedication to his daughters, they have excelled in softball throughout the years. The oldest (Janelle) was named Peoria Journal Star Player of the Year in 2003 her senior year of high school, the middle child (Justine) is a sophomore this year and was named to the 1st team All-Conference team as a unanimous pick, and the youngest (Erica) although she is only in 7th grade is one of the top players on her summer team. If it were not for our dad, and of course our mom as well, putting aside all of there summer ambitions to follow us around the state and out of the state, we would not have had the kind of memories some families only dream about. Softball has been just one of the reasons our family bond is as strong as it is. All of the tournaments spent out in the blazing sun sometimes 12 hours a day was a chance for our family to just be with each other and because of that our parents were able to show us the true meaning of a family. I only hope to instill that meaning in my own children. Summers brought our family together and because of that we have the best memories that we will never forget.
