We are fortunate to have a great area here in central Illinois for watching eagles. It has been fun to see the eaglets as they grow and get ready to leave the nest. As they prepare to fly out of the nest they frantically jump up and down and flap their wings. I would love to be there to witness a first flight.

I was fortunate enough last year to see a baby eagle take his first flight. It was more of a jump, but he got into the air. 2 days later the whole family was gone. I have a pic of him taking his first flight on this website.
