Portland Steamer steamboat moving up the Columbia River

Steamboat crashes into shoreline

While on vacation with my family in Oregon (we're from Peoria), we saw a steamboat moving up the Columbia River outside of our hotel room. As it nears the marina where it's probably supposed to let people off, the paddle stops moving. The current forces the boat against the shoreline. The paddle is destroyed in the aftermath. The boat then moves downstream, narrowly missing a bridge. Then it comes to a stop a little further down the river.

What a way to spend a vacation!
