My nephew Karson (15 months old) doesn't quite understand that horses are big and can be dangerous at times. Trooper, my mom's beautiful paint horse isn't always tame. Karson was determined to get near the horse. We had just fed the horses so they were each standing at their pile of hay. Karson ran up to Trooper and my brother and I thought for sure the horse would spook. He stood calmly, and put his head down so my nephew could pet him. We were both relieved, and proud that the horse didn't jump. This photo was taken while I was home on leave June 17, 2008.
