My 3 yr. old son, camren watson, and I and a few of our friends were fishing at Allendale Conservation Club just north of our hometown, Wyoming, Il. I had just gotten him out of the car, put on his lifejacket, and gave him his pole. I turned around to get my stuff out of the car and two seconds later I heard the commotion. I turned around to see what happened and the little girl next to him to his pole!! We just thought his rubber worm was caught up on some grass but she let go and it went right in the lake!! So I screamed, "get his pole!!" My friend Brittany's brother-in-law, Jeff jumped in the lake and grabbed the pole!! He started reeling it in and he says, "I think he's got something!" So yelled, " Let him reel it in!!" So, he did and my baby boy caught his first fish ever and it just happened to be a 16 inch bass!! I thought that was so cool for his first fish that I'm am going to have it mounted and we are going to put it on the wall next to my 5 pounder!!
