Family vacations have always been in an RV at a race track or campground. Without a drag car or RV for the first time, we decided to try a family trip to the big city. We headed north to the Windy City. We visited Shedd Aquarium in Museum Park. The dolphin show and big turtle were our favorites. We enjoyed a water taxi over to Navy Pier where we spent the rest of the day enjoying a perfect Chicago day. We braved Union Station to take the Metra to Brookfield Zoo where we rode the Carousel, touched a stingray and watched the bears having fun in the water. We also sat at an outdoor cafe to watch the people coming and going from the Taste of Chicago. While we decided that we surely wouldn't want to face that kind of traffic daily, it's always enjoyable to visit. It helps you appreciate living in Central Illinois!
