My friend Gary and I were in Chicago for his class reunion last weekend. Several of his high school buddies accompanied us on a morning visit to the Chicago Botanic Gardens on Saturday. A weekend bonsai show was a featured attraction. A fascinating educational feature was the native IL prairie plantings which had been burned off early in the spring - but were now over eight feet tall and growing very thickly due to abundant rainfall this year.
A perfect summer day in Chicago
