Early Morning Fire in Sunnyland

An early morning fire broke out in the front apartment of the old Jordan Window & Siding Building this morning, The building, located at 2473 Washington Rd., was occupied by a family on the lower floor & a young single mom & child who lived in the front apartment. The back apartment was vacant. No one was injured. The family below got out safely & did not suffer any damage. The occupants of the upper apartment were not home when the fire occured & do not have renter's insurance. The American Red Cross has been contacted for the upstairs occupant (where damage is very extensive) & the downstairs occupants (b/c although there was no damage downstairs, they do not have power)Investigations are being done to determine the cause of the fire. The building was listed for sale by Traders Realty.
