Sara and Louie 2008

Whatever happened to homemade Costumes?

The best part of Halloween for me was the time spent with Mom and Dad making our costumes. It is way too easy now to go to the local Walmart and choose a costume already made. My children decided this year to make our costumes with items found around the house. Sara is the Tin Woodsman from the Wizard of Oz and Louie is a good old fashion Mummy! Sara is wearing grey sweats and Daddy spray painted an old pink vest, a pair of snow boots, a clean funnel and an old oil can. He then made an ax with a two by four and more spray paint! Sara had a blast helping out, too! Louie is wearing an old white sheet that he helped me cut into strips. We then just safety pinned the strips to his clothes. Easy and comfortable! (not to mention affordable!)
