Saturday on November 1st, the sun kissed our skins with its mellow rays giving us the energy to get ready for a long afternoon. The Student for the Environment (SAFE) organization of Illinois Central College gathered together in the school's hidden parking Lot E getting the tools together to finish mulching the Nature Trail of the school. We have a long way to go, and we have to do this fast before winter strikes. We had brought our weapons... wheelbarrows, shovels, rakes, etc. to get ready for the challenge. We were so glad the agriculture department brought us piles of mulch to help us obtain our goal. Having only 6 of us SAFE members to do the job, we knew we could not do this fast. Thank Goodness some members of the Phi Theta Kappa and Sigma Kappa Delta gave us a hand. Three organizations working as a whole is very heartwhelming, and it made the job fun! Although we have not finish the trail because we ran of of mulch on saturday, we will be able to finish the trail by this coming saturday. If all of us unite together and conquer the controversial issues we face today like global warming, etc. I know we can do anything.
