“FLABs is for every man who exercises to live, but doesn’t live to exercise.”
The idea for FLABS was conceived while Marty Kiesewetter and his brother, Marv, both of Tremont, were talking about working out on a frequent basis. Both Marty and Marv, of middle-age, belong to a local health and fitness club for tennis, but neither of them felt comfortable going to the weight room. The weight room at their tennis club is normally full of 20 and 30-somethings. They started talking about how middle-aged women have CURVES, so they decided to start their own low-key/low-expectation workouts in Marty’s barn, and fittingly named it FLABS. Working out with friends is much more fun than working out alone, and three other middle-aged members have recently started to attend including Dean Grimm of Morton, Byron Rabb of Pekin, and Todd Prather of Tremont. They have all committed to one another to workout three times a week during the entire calendar year of 2009!
Marty put together the attached video to demonstrate the tremendous benefits of working out at FLABS.
