Joshua Ruchotzke was a 13-year old honor student and avid athlete when he became ill last January with a strep A infection. The infection quickly became septic and almost cost him his life. As his body was redirecting blood flow to his organs to keep him alive, his extremities suffered and he ultimately had amputations to all four limbs. After months in the hospitals in Peoria and Denver, and several surgeries and lots of therapy, Joshua came home in August with prosthetics for both legs just in time to join his classmates for the first day of school. With many months of therapy and hard work, Joshua is back in the game. He joined his 8th grade basketball team at Farmington Jr. High and drained his first of several 3-point shots December 4th.
Joshua and his family want to thank the community for all your support, love and prayers. You helped make this possible!
