Last fall the whooping cranes were led south by an ultralight aircraft but it was thought they could find there own way back north. These five have been in the Gridley area for over a week now walking around and playing and dancing. They are a sight to see being almost 5 feet tall with a wingspan of nearly 7 feet. Each is banded and has a transmitter on its leg.
