WEEK/WHOI's Josh Simon was at the All-Star Game in St. Louis.
The weekend started on Sunday with the Futures game including former Peoria Chief Josh Vitters followed by the Celebrity and Legends Softball Game.
On Monday, all the players were available for interviews. There was also a brunch held for Major League Baseball guests and media. This was like a character breakfast at Disney. All of the team mascots were there and taking pictures.
In the afternoon both teams practiced prior to Homerun Derby. After the Derby was the All-Star Gala featuring Nelly and Chuck Berry.
Tuesday was game day and not only were the players at the ballpark but so were the celebrities.
The pre-game ceremonies featured Sheryl Crow singing the National Anthem and President Barack Obama throwing out the first pitch.
Eureka's Ben Zobrist made his All-Star Debut, striking out in his only at-bat. Ben also caught the final out as the American League continued their 13 year unbeaten streak 4-3.
