Louis is a one year-old long-haired Dachshund who was born in a puppy mill in West Virginia. The Dachshund Rescue of North America raided the mill in early summer of 2008 and adult dogs were taken with their pups to various foster homes around the United States.
We lost one of our beloved dogs in November of 2008 to cancer. Our remaining dog is also a Dachshund and was simply lost without his companion. Within two weeks of losing our dog to cancer, we began looking for another dog to help fill the void in all our lives. We found Louis through the DRNA website. After we read his story of survival, we knew we had found our newest family member.
We're very proud of our young man, he has a very gentle disposition, he's very well behaved and gets along well with everyone. He is a true gift in our home and our hearts.
