Unfortunatly there are some sad events that have unfolded in East Peoria the last few days. My family just happen to be the target last night.
I woke up this morning very happy and decided to do a good deed for Christmas. I knew someone who could use some help cleaning there home, so I decided to go over and help them out today. I had all my shopping done for Christmas. With a little time on my hands, I thought I would put them to good use. I had just got done mopping the floor when my husband called. He asked me if my counsel had been gone through in my car. I replied that I noticed it had but didn't think much of it. I was in a hurry to go clean and I thought that my children may have rooted through the car looking for Christmas gifts or something. Evidently, someone had went through his counsel as well. I got a sick feeling in my stomach because I knew I still had presents in my trunk for my children and my husband.
I immediately ran to the car and popped the trunk. Just as I thought, everything was gone. I had about three hundred dollars worth of gifts still in there. I headed home and we called the police and filed a report. The officer told us that two nights ago, another family in our neighborhood had their car broken into as well. The robbers know that people leave presents in their cars to hide them from their children, so it is the perfect time to break into cars and loot them.
I have a message for the grinch who tried to steal our Christmas.
If you needed my childrens Christmas gifts so badly, you should have just asked and I would have given them to you. You took our material things, but we still have each other! Most of all, we have Jesus Christ who died on the cross to save us from our sins. If you are reading this, I pray that you ask for forgiveness because Santa may not have seen what you've done, BUT GOD DID!!!
