Fieldcrest High School in Minonk has the amount of money the state owes the school placed on it's marquee just like several other area schools. The district is asking residents to contact their local representative before budget cuts are made. The state requires schools to have a balanced budget every year, however local schools cannot balance their budget when the state doesn't pay what it owes.

Well Thats certainly not true, since I was told from a teacher in Toluca school that he could get help with his math when Volleyball was over and this was a Minonk kid!!! I agree the School sucks! I think it has been that way since the Consolidation!

If anyone is going to call congress for Fieldcrest..it should be to tell them to close the school....it sucks.Congress should force them to teach ALL the children instead of just the ones with the Minonk names before they receive a dime.

If the state does not pay its share as set by state law, school districts should not be forced to follow the arcane rules and regulations set by the state.
