Boys N Icicles

When I was young around my sons age, I knocked down some very large icicles that were hanging from these very same gutters. My dad, visibly upset who had told me not to touch them, later explained that he was going to enter them into a local contest. I think it was the Journal Star. He did not yell, but I knew he was upset about it.

I had some nice ones growing a couple of weeks ago and my girlfriend stopped by the house and knocked them down without asking. Well I managed to tell her the story without getting too upset and explained that we don't knock down icicles unless we ask around here.

Thankfully, the latest winter storm and cold weather has produced some outstanding icicles again even better than ones that were there before. We took some pictures of them today and then I let my son loose with a baseball bat to tear them down.

Today I yet again realized that somewhere deep down inside of me, I am still 11 years old. Even though the outside of me has turned into my father.

I'm sorry I knocked down your icicles dad, I hope this makes up for it. If we win the pizza, you can half...
