The Elmwood School District is pulling out all the stops to be one of 10 schools to win $100,000 from U.S. Cellular’s Calling All Communities contest.
The district bused all its students to Elmwood High School Jan. 12 for a pep assembly to energize and encourage students and community members to vote for Elmwood Elementary School before the contest ends Jan. 15.
Superintendent Roger Alvey says he hopes each student can generate two votes or more for the school and launch it into the top 10.
Elmwood Elementary was previously ranked 78th in the country, but won’t know where it stands until February when U.S. Cellular announces the 10 Calling All Communities winners.
You can help Elmwood win $100,000 for its schools by doing the following:
1.) Drop by any U.S. Cellular store to pick up a voting code to use online (must be 18 or older, no purchase necessary)
2.) Visit uscellular.com/callingallcommunities and click the “Vote for your school” link
3.) Enter your voting code and choose “Elmwood Elementary School” in Elmwood, IL
