"livin in a junk yard"

The place is called Buzzville,Illinois located 6 miles north of Havana. We have an issue that we would like to present to the public. It has always been an on going struggle out here w/residents turning they're yards into personal dump stations. For example a huge majority of the homes out here are either abandoned or folks living in a house that should be condemned.80% of the yards out here consist of regular garbage, old abandoned cars, trucks, campers, boats, tires, furniture, freezer food that went bad and was just tossed outside & swimming pools that have had the same stagnated water in them for 2 years. There are homes out here that were burnt down years ago due to arson, and the rubble and debri has been scattered all over the neighborhood, nothing has been cleaned up or attempted to be cleaned up and disposed of.These abandoned homes are now occupied by kids, where they can party, hang out, hide out and do drugs. My kids along w/other kids that reside here have in the past found suringes to shoot drugs and hitters to smoke marijuana down at the bus stop, and along our roads. This has never been a secret here,it's been goin on for a long time .It's like we have been shut out by neighboring towns and counties.Too many of these old abandoned houses are getting ready to cave in due to rotting roofs and or foundations falling out from underneath them.My concern is for the residents safety, especially the children that reside here in this small community.I don't understand why everyone wants to wait till a small child is killed by one of these houses before the communty will step in and do something about it,if thats the case i think that is terribly wrong. The mason co. sheriffs dept. has stepped in to help get rid of some of the old vehicles etc..The mason co.health dept. has stepped in to help w/the old septic systems and well pits that are exposed if a small child wonders across some of these yards not paying attention,he or she will end up in a hole that could be life threatening. The part i really do not understand is how so many people for just the price of a cup of coffee a day can do so much for children in other countries,we have all seen the commercials, then why can't we all pull together and help our own children w/similar circumstances, right in our own back yards??????I have lived in this community for over 10 years, and have never seen anybody bend over backwards for this community like they would for a resident that lives right in town, this would not be tollerated there, what seperates them from us?I wanted to make this public so people can see that we do have issues that definitly need resolved.I will keep trying to seek out help and find someone who is concerned for the safety of the children and residents here.Low income families should be treated equal as everyone else,it's the american way.Any suggestions????

I also had comments that were not included. I didn't use foul or offensive language and I don't understand why my comments were not added.

moving is a solution. why should it matter to you what someone else's yard looks like?

I was just in Buzzville with my wife this weekend, and I see it as an opportunity. My wife and I are thinking of buying up as much of the vacant property as possible. Anyone interested in selling send me an email jwaynecox@gmail.com
