Over the past few very pleasant clear days the moon has been brightly visible during the day light hours, especially in the early hours of the day. Each morning the birds gather in a dead tree seemingly to "gawk at, and sing to the moon". I am sure they gather for other reasons, but my version of the story fits the image.
