Fire damages vacant EP house

Fire heavily damaged a vacant house at 504 Avondale in East Peoria on Friday afternoon.

The East Peoria Fire Department received the call at 12:22 p.m., and smoke and flames were visible when firefighters arrived on the scene. It took firefighters less than an hour to extinguish the blaze.

The house has been vacant for some time. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
